New Nursery, Breastfeeding, Sleeping and other things

Happy February everyone! This is one of my favorite months! (Although not sure Abby would agree with me!) Not only is it my birthday month AND Valentine’s, it’s also our wedding anniversary month! It doesn’t get much better than that…:D

So we’ve been settling nicely into our new home and my new job although the lack of Internet bit hasn’t been great. We’re getting to know North Wales a little bit more and really it is such a lovely country with lots of wide open countryside! We’re definitely looking forward to the summer here! But what else have we been up to?

Let the biting begin! And what else?

Just when I thought my darling was a proper sweetheart and would never do anything to harm her mama she bites me! I know a lot of people would say I’ve been luck thus far in my breastfeeding journey, but still! And my goodness did it hurt! Did I mention she has teeth? Oh the pain…

My Breastfeeding Journey 4 months later

I’ve been meaning to write an update on my breastfeeding experience thus far, considering I blogged about breastfeeding at 3 weeks and how it wasn’t a walk in the park! Since then I have been through a number of enlightening experiences, and that’s putting it mildly… I warn you, this post is not for the faint hearted! 🙂

A Newborn baby’s letter to Mummy on Breastfeeding

I came across this article on breastfeeding from a newborn baby’s POV and found it quite enlightening and interesting. Wish I had read this before I started breastfeeding because there were days I felt like my milk supply just wasn’t enough and it was hard! I talked about it in a previous post here. And like the article said my mum always suggested I include some formula as that’s what she did with all of us. But in the end it’s working out fine for everyone…

Hope you enjoy the read!

3 weeks and Exclusive Breast Feed is Not a walk in the park!

Anjie turned 3 weeks this today! Yipppeeee! From next week we can actually start counting in months, but I think I’ll stick with the week count till about 2-3 months 🙂

Anjie’s getting darker in the skin complexion department, meaning she’s once again tilting towards her dad in terms of looks! But it’s still early days so we’ll see! Some people see her pictures and insist she looks like my mum (I’ve been told I’m a darker version of my mum as well) so its just interesting to see which way she continues to swing in the looks department!

2 weeks old – My Mind’s playing tricks on me!

This week Anjie turned two weeks! I’m not going to say it has been fun all the way cos it hasn’t but like someone rightly put it, parenthood is hard, but then you come across those moments which make it absolutely worth it, like when she smiles in her sleep (she’s doing that now, priceless! Can’t wait for the proper smile though!)

I can’t deny the fact that the sleepless nights are getting to me. It’s worst in the early hours of the morning between 5am-7am, at that time I’m just exhausted and want to sleep! The good new is that Anjie recently picked up this pattern which I hope she sticks with for a bit. She falls asleep around 8-9pm after a major feed and sleeps till 2-2.30am! Once she sleeps like that I try to hit the bed around 10pm myself cos she’s with grandma at this time.
