I saw this picture online and I was just like yes, this is us! Ahhhhh, it is hard! And it wasn’t meant to be this way oh, our daughter just some how achieved this for herself!
I’ve blogged a lot about Aj’s sleepingarrangement and there were days when it seemed like we had cracked it but then she’d go back to her old ways. I’m hoping when her sibling comes along things will change and if not, we’ll have to make some changes, as usual!
Yes, like the title implies, it looks like my baby girl is no longer a baby any more…
I don’t want to give up afternoon naps because I get to do stuff during that time, heck sometimes even I take a nap as well! But it’s been a long time coming, we have to say goodbye! I’ve even gone and told the nursery to no longer push it – she’s always one of the last kids to drop off in her class because she fights it so much and sometimes she even wins!
First of all, it’s June already! Half way through 2014!! Thank God for a great year thus far…
Just when I thought we had transitioned to a big girl’s bed fairly easily without any sleepless nights! Boy, was I wrong!
A few nights ago we had a serious rough night! It was like we went back to when Anjie was a baby again and staying up through the night (I still have nightmares about that period of our lives, lol!). She kept waking up, walking to our room and refused to sleep on her bed. Hubby said she was absolutely NOT going to sleep in our room so we had a lot of to and fro that night! We’d lie with her for a bit then try to get off the bed without waking her up! It was not pleasant at all!
It’s funny how as parents we worry about the strangest things and then suddenly it happens right under our nose and we’re like ‘what! how/when did that happen?!’.
Anjie has been in her cot bed since forever. We thankfully never got an over adventurous child that wanted to explore climbing out of their cot! So we ended up just lowering it and leaving it that way. Until the last Easter holiday… (more…)
Isn’t it funny how when raising kids there are different stages and hurdles to cross every single day! I means these babies and toddlers know how to keep us on our toes! First I was battling with breastfeeding then teething, sleep training, disciplining and now it’s Potty training!
Bring out the instruction book and let’s get reading again!
So my Anjie baby turns 17 months today! I honestly don’t know where the time has gone! This past few months have been pretty busy for me too – work and all, but hopefully everything should have settled down now! That is my excuse for not updating my blog as often as I would have liked over the past few months… But to more interesting news, what have we been up to?
Happy February everyone! This is one of my favorite months! (Although not sure Abby would agree with me!) Not only is it my birthday month AND Valentine’s, it’s also our wedding anniversary month! It doesn’t get much better than that…:D
So we’ve been settling nicely into our new home and my new job although the lack of Internet bit hasn’t been great. We’re getting to know North Wales a little bit more and really it is such a lovely country with lots of wide open countryside! We’re definitely looking forward to the summer here! But what else have we been up to?
Well this year seems to keep getting better and better! My little angel is finally starting to sleep through on most nights – with a little help from mummy and daddy of course…
So Anjie had been doing ok-ish late November in the sleep department, waking up like once at night to have some milk then back to sleep. I thought, this is ok, I could work with this – but then she had chickenpox and everything changed, for the worse. She started sleeping quite poorly which is to be expected considering what she was going through. It got so bad she started sleeping in our room because she was that restless at night. (more…)
Yes yes, I know right! my little girl is already having sleep overs! I could cry right now… 🙂
It wasn’t anything major though. We had to attend Abby’s company Christmas party down south near Birmingham and it was going to be an overnight do. Seeing as Grandma had gone we had to think, should hubby go without me or could we drop Anjie off with someone..? (more…)
So we’ve been really quite busy at home… so busy I haven’t had time blog! Shame on me… Work is getting pretty busy plus we’ve had family over a bit. That’s right, Anjie has met another one of her cousins from her dad’s side! And yes, it is official, Anjie loves babies and kids. It was lovely to watch her play with her cousin Jayden, his a month younger than her though so she was doing more of the playing but it was great 🙂
