First of all, Happy New Year! This post should have come last year but better late than never! 🙂
We finally did a birthday party for Aj the weekend before Christmas and it went better than I expected!
I previously blogged about Nigerian vs British kids parties and I was torn on how to go about the party. I knew I wanted it to be as stress-free as possible (for me!) but for it to be fun for the kids. Hubby and I were pretty much on the same page regarding this AND maintaining a non-expensive budget too!
As the year quickly comes to an end I thought it’ll be a good idea to just say thank you to all my offline and online friends! For being there, reading, dropping comments (or not) and just sharing our lives with us. (more…)
Oh my goodness! Where has the year gone! In a few weeks it’ll be Christmas but before that, my beautiful daughter’s birthday! Can’t believe Aj will be FOUR next week!! Noooo! I’m not ready yet! It crazy how this year went by, having a baby really does that to you!
My little man turned 8 months this week! What an amazing journey it’s been getting to this stage!
I definitely have to say motherhood has been a lot easier better this second time around – breastfeeding for one was smoother, weaning is going better and I guess I’m just more relaxed as a mother. I pray I haven’t jinxed things now!
Junior is still a serious little man, chilled out and not fussed at all, except at night or when he isn’t getting what he wants. We still have to work for the smiles but when they come it melts my heart every time!
The first week of back to school was last week and we made it! It’s going to take some getting used to this routine, but I believe we’re in a good place. It also helps that I only have to go to work Monday mornings for now, so means I can get the hang of things pretty well before I increase my hours and officially resume next month!
And finally, I had a niece, thanks to my brother, Dipo and his lovely wife Tomi! I was starting to worry that Aj might be the only girl from my side of the family, but thankfully that has all changed now! I pray she is the first of many more to come too… (more…)
Junior has started weaning! I haven’t been looking forward to this at all (I also dread potty training)! It is so messy and these babies are so unpredictable! I’ve promised myself I won’t put too much pressure on myself and will let the little man take the lead so we’ll see how that pans out…
Well, almost! Can’t believe Junior will be 5 months next week!
My maternity leave is slowly coming to an end… Mixed feelings really. I miss going to work (not that I’m a morning person though), tasking my brain and knowing that I’m working towards taking my career to the next level, that’s exciting for me so I’m looking forward to that! But also knowing that very soon my baby boy will be crawling and running everywhere and my cuddle time will be slashed in half… well, I don’t want to think about it!
Anyway, what has been going on here? For one thing, my folks are in town!!! Yipppeeeeee!
