And finally, I had a niece, thanks to my brother, Dipo and his lovely wife Tomi! I was starting to worry that Aj might be the only girl from my side of the family, but thankfully that has all changed now! I pray she is the first of many more to come too… (more…)
After we had Aj about 10 months after getting married we knew we wanted a break – at least 3-4 years gap before we’d try again. We also both knew we would love a boy, one of each to complete our family but the ‘plan’ was to stop at two either way. In between the 3 year gap I stumbled upon an article on how to have a baby boy… Interesting, I thought!
Let’s just say I read it thoroughly, researched some more then we ‘practised’ it and the rest as they say is history…
I like to think of myself as a nice person (haha) so I thought I’d share what we did! Obviously, I feel I have to put a disclosure here and state I am not a medical practitioner and there are no guarantees on whether it’ll work or not but what have you got to lose, right…? (more…)
Junior turned two months over the weekend and I’m thankful to say we seem to be coming to the end of the battle with colic! Now I just pray it stays that way! But now we have another battle on our hands, an old adversary – baby rash or very dry skin :(. Just when I thought we had avoided it! (more…)
Where do I start! I can’t believe Junior is a month old already! Don’t get me wrong, I have counted each and every single day yet here we are at one month already! It’s been quite the ride, can’t say I’ve enjoyed every single bit of it but it’s been worth it. But I have to say that this young man deceived me! He has changed from his 10 day old self…
We had his naming ceremony last week and he came out with 14 names as is tradition! Aj had about the same so it’s no surprise! Since he was named after his grandpa AND he came out looking a lot like his daddy I’ve decided to name him Junior on my blog! So that’s where the name ‘Junior’ comes from… We’ll see if he grows up looking like his dad though!
Last weekend was awesome! But it ended way too quickly for my liking! We drove down to Scotland for Baby Damz‘s dedication (AJ’s new cousin!) – 5 hours on the road with a pregnant woman, a toddler and of course a man! Let’s just say the trip ended up taking a little longer than 5 hours but it was fun! In Scotland, we got all the cousins in one place – Aj, Jj, Ojj AND Damz! The only people missing were the people on the other side of the pond! I’m pretty sure the house felt the kids’ presence!
June was a very busy month for us, but we loved every single minute of it! As my nephew made his début appearance into this world, we had to attend his naming ceremony up in Scotland as is tradition. It was a long drive about 5.5 hours, Anjie was a darling, most of the time, but we still had to make a several stops when she started getting cranky.
That’s the new mummy and daddy in native Yoruba attire!
So this past week has been a lovely week for my family! Not only was it my boo’s birthday, but we also welcomed a new member to my family! I am now an aunty for the second time! And of course, lets not forget it was Father’s day too!
I’m still trying to get back into blogging but it’s hard! There’s just not enough hours in the day… But we’ll get there! In the meantime, I have definitely been very picture happy, so I’ll be making up with loads of them!
We’ve go another Omoniyi baby in the family! That’s another little cousin for Anjie to play with when the young man gets older. Congrats to you guys once again if you’re reading this! So while we were meeting baby Omoniyi, Anjie also caught up with JJ! Now that was funny to watch, they were playing together and running after each other, well running and crawling… And singing
