This second pregnancy of mine is turning into the first of many! For one thing, I had my first every Baby Shower over the weekend! It’s one of those things I didn’t have the first time as we were in a new town with most of our friends back in Newcastle so didn’t do anything and the same for this second time as well! We’ve been living in North Wales for just about 2 years so once again I really wasn’t planning anything but surprise surprise it happened, and it was a lovely surprise…
I’m on a one week countdown to kicking off my maternity leave! Excited much!!
I can’t wait to have my lie-ins, although who am I kidding? Once you have a toddler that is out the window! Plus, I need to get Aj ready for nursery in the mornings as normal, but at least once she’s gone I will definitely be going back to bed! So I will be one of those mums dropping off her kid at the nursery in their pyjamas or something close! I don’t care!! 🙂 Orrrr, maybe I could get hubby to do it…
I have to say, so far I’ve been quite impressed with the level of care I’ve received here in North Wales compared to Leeds during my first time with AJ! Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have a BAD experience in Leeds but it did leave some to be desired. That said, what you don’t know won’t hurt you – I didn’t know I could get better service so I didn’t see it as lacking – but I’ll never forget that my appointed delivery hospital told me they were full when I was ready to give birth, that was just mind-blowing…
It’s December people! Yes, I can believe it because right now I need February to get here quickly! So glad we’re in the last month of 2014! It’s been fun but bring on 2015! Here’s praying that we finish off the year with continued joy and happiness!
Last week I blogged about measuring a little bigger than recommended in my last midwife appointment, but this was partly due to fact that baby was lying in a transverse position so they couldn’t get an exact measure when they tried. However, at my last appointment it seemed okay-ish so we thought that was it! But no it wasn’t…
Last weekend was awesome! But it ended way too quickly for my liking! We drove down to Scotland for Baby Damz‘s dedication (AJ’s new cousin!) – 5 hours on the road with a pregnant woman, a toddler and of course a man! Let’s just say the trip ended up taking a little longer than 5 hours but it was fun! In Scotland, we got all the cousins in one place – Aj, Jj, Ojj AND Damz! The only people missing were the people on the other side of the pond! I’m pretty sure the house felt the kids’ presence!
I’ve been meaning to write an update on my breastfeeding experience thus far, considering I blogged about breastfeeding at 3 weeks and how it wasn’t a walk in the park! Since then I have been through a number of enlightening experiences, and that’s putting it mildly… I warn you, this post is not for the faint hearted! 🙂
16 weeks and it’s that special time again for the dreaded vaccines… This month she had 3!!! But thankfully she took it well, crying for a few seconds and then was okay. Next thing I knew, she was asleep like this! Bless her…
So Anjie turned 3 months today! Yippeeee! Ironically she’s been a tad bit cranky and clingy today, but thankfully, she’s asleep now… I took this picture earlier in the week and really love it so figured I’ll post it here! Oh and that’s pebbles, one of her first cuddly friends 🙂
So what have we been up to this week?
So my folks left at the beginning of the week. I can’t say it has been a walk in the park… We’ve had some good days and not so good days (or rather nights!) with the little madam! But like my mum says ‘everyday is plus one’. She won’t always be like this, – not sleeping through the night, or eating every 2-3 hours – infact there will come a time when she will be almost too independent! So take it easy!
Wow!! 36 weeks!!! This week has been pretty busy and so much has been going on! Where do I start?!
First of all, my parent are in town! All the way from Warri, Nigeria! They got in last weekend and have been at my brother’s place all week. He just graduated with a Doctorate in Human Computer Interaction! How awesome is that? So a big short out to my big bro for setting such amazing standards for his siblings to follow!
So hubby and I went over to Middlesborough for the graduation ceremony, which is just about 1.5hrs from Leeds. After the ceremony we went on to Newcastle and came back the next morning. Fortunately, we took a half day Wednesday and Thursday so didn’t have to rush back into work Thursday morning.
