Swimming lessons with a toddler – Success!!

Last week I blogged about Anjie starting her swimming lessons which was a disaster – partly my fault really! So to make sure I knew where I was going and didn’t get late this time I went on a re-con mission a couple of days before the swimming lesson and it took me only about 15 mins to get there! That works perfectly for me as I close 4pm, make a dash to pick Anjie and arrive at the swimming pool with about 10mins to change and get ready for the class!


New Year New Look for Anjie and I – Again

Thank God for the start of another year!

What is starting to become a little trend for me it seems is to do something ‘different’ with my hair at the end of the year. Last year I had massive hair cut and got a new job, now that was pretty exciting! This year, I haven’t gotten a new job but I do have a new look, again! To be fair it’s not really a new look because I just coloured my hair, but it is quite a ‘radical’ colour (or so I’ve been told) and I LOVE it!



Anjie and the battle with natural black hair

So, this is a post I’ve been meaning to write for a while now and today, I said, enough! I will write this post…

Natural black hair is something I’ve always been used to. Growing up, the thought of relaxing my hair was absolutely unheard of until I finished secondary school! I had low-cut most of my primary school days due to having a very sensitive scalp and only starting plaiting it when I entered secondary school. When I was in University I cut my hair several times then I came to the UK and finally cut it again at end of the year. So, what am I trying to say? Low cut (and I mean LOW CUT) has never really been a big deal for me!

But with Anjie, it’s a bit of a different story…
