So it’s been a minute here… Life has been happening, keeping me busy and very occupied! I’ll be honest and say I’ve thought of retiring the blog as well, but I just can’t let go! Just got to keep pushing on…
Anyway, this is something that’s been on my mind for a while now – kids extra-curricular activities! What is all the fuss about? Are they really worth it in proving new life lessons, experiences and skills or just another way to spend money on our kids?
My baby girl turns 5 years old today! I know I probably say this every year but I’m still amazing at where the time has gone!
We have so much to be thankful for, and this young missy is one of them! She is growing up every day to be strong, beautiful and amazing little lady and we’re so blessed to be her parents! (more…)
So Jj had his first sleep over at our house last weekend. It was different because it was just him, without his folks! His mum (my sister) said he’ll be fine as he’s done it before, but I was a little nervous as this was technically my first time of having a child stay over without their mum or dad so I was definitely curious to see how it would pan out. Obviously, it helps that the kids both love each other to bits and JJ is just a few months younger than Aj so they’re almost twins!
Last weekend was the bank holiday weekend so had a long weekend! I felt like this was the last proper week of the summer so we went all out with it and it was a packed weekend for us. We had loads to do and it was all good fun.
So what did we get up to last weekend?
Last weekend was a pretty fun time for us, hectic but well spent family time! A number of things were planned so I decided to take the friday off work. As Aj gets ready for big school in September I’m actually starting to question working 5 days a week – this is something I’ll be reviewing over the next few months…
Not to get sidetracked, here’s what we got up to last weekend!
I remember when I was little and I used to look forward to school holidays, not because we would travel anywhere exciting as such but because it meant I didn’t have to wake up early! Yes, for as long as I can remember I’ve always loved my sleep!
Summer holidays meant no school, so we would wake up whenever and just play, play and play some more! My mum was a teacher so she was on ‘holiday’ too while she caught up with school work and did the usual running around for the house and other things here and there.
My kids holidays are going to be very different from mine though!
Last weekend we went for the Standon Calling festival and it was very interesting! Had a shakey start but the finish was great fun all round!
Officially the festival was on from Friday the 29th till Sunday the 31st of July but we could only go on Saturday, what with work and other family comittements.
As I mentioned here, this was my first family festival so I was really curious to attend it and see what it was like and I wasn’t disappointment!
Looks like we’ll be going our first family festival in July! How exciting!
Earlier in the week I got asked if I’ll be interested in attending the Standon Calling Family Festival 2016 and I was like where do I sign up! These are all part of the things I used to miss living in the north I tell you – networking and family events.
The last two month have been a whirlwind! I don’t even know where to start…
Well, I do actually, it all started with this post where I had a bit of a rant about long distance relationships! Well hubby read it and he wasn’t pleased at all! And that’s how it all began!
Next thing I knew, I found myself (and my family) in Hertfordshire!
Yes! We’ve moved down south!
So hubby got a new job – Yipppeeeee!
The not so great news is the job is in London. We live in North Wales. That is over 200 miles or 3 hours drive one way. No joke.
I know some might ask why I don’t look for a job down south and move, the idea has crossed my mind but I’m not so sure…
