So we’ve been really quite busy at home… so busy I haven’t had time blog! Shame on me… Work is getting pretty busy plus we’ve had family over a bit. That’s right, Anjie has met another one of her cousins from her dad’s side! And yes, it is official, Anjie loves babies and kids. It was lovely to watch her play with her cousin Jayden, his a month younger than her though so she was doing more of the playing but it was great 🙂
Anjie turns 9 months today! Yippeeee. I’ve also been back at work now for just under two months, although I haven’t quite gone full time yet (that’s in October) it’s being… Interesting. I honestly can’t say it’s been fun because it hasn’t! But thankfully it gets better and easier everyday.
Okay, maybe I’m being a little over dramatic here, but hey, I did survive! Considering the fact that I thought I won’t cope, I feel very proud of the fact that I made it through my first week without shedding a tear! 🙂 My little girl went to the nursery on Monday and spent the whole day there all by herself and she was just fine without me… The rest of the week was with Grandma.
It’s official, Anjie is crawling!!! And is she stopping there?? Nooooo, she’s using everything in her path to stand up now! I’m talking my legs, her daddy, her cot, chairs, sofas and heck, even the radiators (quite worrying I tell you)! It’s so lovely to see and I’m so proud of her! And she’s so fast too! I wasn’t expecting her to do much of these things until like 8-9 months! But believe me, I’m glad!
These achievements remind me of the Pampers commercial which shows babys’ climbing chairs with Coldplay’s Viva la Vida playing as a soundtrack. Their smiles at the end their climbs were soo proud and happy! That’s the smile Anjie has when she stands up and I just can’t get enough of it… An example being this picture! Very cheeky! Especially since she was supposed to be asleep!
I’ve been meaning to write an update on my breastfeeding experience thus far, considering I blogged about breastfeeding at 3 weeks and how it wasn’t a walk in the park! Since then I have been through a number of enlightening experiences, and that’s putting it mildly… I warn you, this post is not for the faint hearted! 🙂
OMG!!! Last night had to be one of the worst nights Anjie and I have had since she stopped being a newborn baby! I’m pretty certain she woke up at least 6 times! Twice to eat and the rest just dummy runs! That was soo not good…
I had heard a lot of December mummies talk about the 4 month sleep regression and thought I was already going through it but boy was I wrong! Now I know the difference! it doesn’t help that Anjie will be exactly 4 months tomorrow either!!
I came across this article on breastfeeding from a newborn baby’s POV and found it quite enlightening and interesting. Wish I had read this before I started breastfeeding because there were days I felt like my milk supply just wasn’t enough and it was hard! I talked about it in a previous post here. And like the article said my mum always suggested I include some formula as that’s what she did with all of us. But in the end it’s working out fine for everyone…
Hope you enjoy the read!
So my booboo turned 5 weeks this week! She’s growing bigger and bigger and can officially be called an ‘orobo’ which means ‘fat person’ in Yoruba but in this case we’ll go for chubby baby 🙂
After about two weeks of battling baby acne, it is clearing up, thank God! Went to the doctors on Thursday and they gave us Oilatum Junior Moisturising cream and Bathing liquid to use twice a day and whenever we bath her and I’ve already started seeing improvements! Her skin is not as dry as it used to look so they means it’s working well! Hopefully before the week runs out she’ll have the skin of well, a baby again! (more…)
