And finally, I had a niece, thanks to my brother, Dipo and his lovely wife Tomi! I was starting to worry that Aj might be the only girl from my side of the family, but thankfully that has all changed now! I pray she is the first of many more to come too… (more…)
I woke up at about 3.30am on the 19th of February after scheduling this post around 12 midnight earlier that day thinking I was feeling different. For the first time I was having proper contractions with period like cramps and not just Braxton hicks contractions. They seemed relatively far apart so I didn’t take it seriously.
By about 4am i realised this could be the real deal so I got out my Full term app and started monitoring the contractions. Next, I got on my birthing ball and started bouncing away. Initially the contractions were about 9-12 mins apart so I just continued bouncing while everyone slept. I wanted to be certain before I started waking anyone up. (more…)
I’m on a one week countdown to kicking off my maternity leave! Excited much!!
I can’t wait to have my lie-ins, although who am I kidding? Once you have a toddler that is out the window! Plus, I need to get Aj ready for nursery in the mornings as normal, but at least once she’s gone I will definitely be going back to bed! So I will be one of those mums dropping off her kid at the nursery in their pyjamas or something close! I don’t care!! 🙂 Orrrr, maybe I could get hubby to do it…
Happy New Year people! Welcome to 2015 and to kick start it I’m doing my first giveaway, how exciting!!
I’ve never done a giveaway before so I thought now would be a good time as any! Since this is my first time I’m going to try to make this as easy as possible for everyone, myself included! As you all know, we’re expecting a Valentine Baby!! So the giveaway is quite simple: Guess my delivery date! You can include the following details to stand a chance at winning a prize!
- Date of arrival
- Sex of the baby
- Weight of baby
- Time of arrival
I have to say, so far I’ve been quite impressed with the level of care I’ve received here in North Wales compared to Leeds during my first time with AJ! Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have a BAD experience in Leeds but it did leave some to be desired. That said, what you don’t know won’t hurt you – I didn’t know I could get better service so I didn’t see it as lacking – but I’ll never forget that my appointed delivery hospital told me they were full when I was ready to give birth, that was just mind-blowing…
June was a very busy month for us, but we loved every single minute of it! As my nephew made his début appearance into this world, we had to attend his naming ceremony up in Scotland as is tradition. It was a long drive about 5.5 hours, Anjie was a darling, most of the time, but we still had to make a several stops when she started getting cranky.
That’s the new mummy and daddy in native Yoruba attire!
So this past week has been a lovely week for my family! Not only was it my boo’s birthday, but we also welcomed a new member to my family! I am now an aunty for the second time! And of course, lets not forget it was Father’s day too!
First of all! Here’s welcoming Baby AJ Omoniyi into the world! She made a gracious appearance on the 21st of December at 7.40pm weighing a good 8lb 5oz (3.77kg)!
It all started on my due date, 18th of dec when I had a bloody show (lost some mucus plug) – that was my first sign that labour was coming. But nothing happened except the normal period like cramps and a few contractions in between. (more…)
