Merry Christmas!! Better late than never right? Hope you all had a lovely time with family and friends 🙂
This past week has been crazy busy for us! We had a lovely Christmas holiday and now trying to get back into the swing of things – especially as this is the last day of 2014! It’s been an amazing year and I’m thankful to God for so many things this year! I’m also super excited about 2015 not just because Aj’s sibling is on the way but I also plan on using this maternity leave to re-evaluate a number of things in my life!
Without getting too introspective (something which always happens around this time of the year), here’s what we got up to over the holiday!
Yesterday was Aj’s 3rd birthday! In the end we decided to have another quiet birthday partly because I was being lazy what with baby and her switching nurseries so she’s still making friends at her new place. We decided to have another quiet family thing like we did with her last twobirthdays and she’ll go party with her new friends in school today!
Good thing we did too because she woke up with a temperature and a swollen face the morning of her birthday! Panic!! Thankfully she was fine within a few hours but she’s definitely reacting to something because she still has a body rash! Still trying to figure out what could have caused it…
I saw this picture online and I was just like yes, this is us! Ahhhhh, it is hard! And it wasn’t meant to be this way oh, our daughter just some how achieved this for herself!
I’ve blogged a lot about Aj’s sleepingarrangement and there were days when it seemed like we had cracked it but then she’d go back to her old ways. I’m hoping when her sibling comes along things will change and if not, we’ll have to make some changes, as usual!
I have to say, so far I’ve been quite impressed with the level of care I’ve received here in North Wales compared to Leeds during my first time with AJ! Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have a BAD experience in Leeds but it did leave some to be desired. That said, what you don’t know won’t hurt you – I didn’t know I could get better service so I didn’t see it as lacking – but I’ll never forget that my appointed delivery hospital told me they were full when I was ready to give birth, that was just mind-blowing…
It’s December people! Yes, I can believe it because right now I need February to get here quickly! So glad we’re in the last month of 2014! It’s been fun but bring on 2015! Here’s praying that we finish off the year with continued joy and happiness!
Last week I blogged about measuring a little bigger than recommended in my last midwifeappointment, but this was partly due to fact that baby was lying in a transverse position so they couldn’t get an exact measure when they tried. However, at my last appointment it seemed okay-ish so we thought that was it! But no it wasn’t…
Last weekend was awesome! But it ended way too quickly for my liking! We drove down to Scotland for Baby Damz‘s dedication (AJ’s new cousin!) – 5 hours on the road with a pregnant woman, a toddler and of course a man! Let’s just say the trip ended up taking a little longer than 5 hours but it was fun! In Scotland, we got all the cousins in one place – Aj, Jj, Ojj AND Damz! The only people missing were the people on the other side of the pond! I’m pretty sure the house felt the kids’ presence!
Once I found out I was pregnant again I knew a number of things were going to have to change, one of them was AJ’s childcare nursery. I was very nervous about this because I felt AJ had made friends there; she was going to parties and doing things in her class. She’d would even come home and talk about her friends in school so I was really torn about making the switch.
I always get confused about the third trimester – some baby blog say it starts from 27 weeks while others say 28 weeks. Since I like to track silly little things like this and love every possible milestones, I’m going to say I’m in my 3rd trimester now! Thank God for that! (Even though last time I waited till I was 28 weeks – you can tell that that time is going a little too slow for me right now!)
This past week as been pretty busy for me! But busy in a lovely way!
First off, my sister gave birth last week thursday to a lovely baby boy! So now you can call me Aunty Tola! We’re all so thankful because it wasn’t an easy pregnancy but God saw her through!
Also I’ve been working on a friend’s wedding website for Kenny & Voke, Voke was Abby’s best man at our wedding so it was fun doing it for them! Only wish we could be there for the wedding, but sadly can’t make it…
Anjie has been acting up a bit this past few weeks, for one thing, our routine is now a bit shaky, but on a plus she’s sleeping a bit better now, waking up just once between 7.30pm and 5.30am, which is always a good thing! I’m hoping its a growth spurt because she’s eating more during the day and sleeping less but who knows… We’ll continue to see how it goes!
Here’s Anjie at just over 15 weeks! Love the middle shot! lol…
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter and have a great week!
First of all! Here’s welcoming Baby AJ Omoniyi into the world! She made a gracious appearance on the 21st of December at 7.40pm weighing a good 8lb 5oz (3.77kg)!
It all started on my due date, 18th of dec when I had a bloody show (lost some mucus plug) – that was my first sign that labour was coming. But nothing happened except the normal period like cramps and a few contractions in between. (more…)
