Note to self – Me and Booboo’s Hospital Bags

So I’ve been doing a lot of reading on what to pack and what not to pack for my trip to the hospital for me and the little one. Its all a bit overwhelming as I hate load and there just seems like an awful lot of things to pack and I’m seriously wondering if I’m actually going to need all that!

Anyway, I figured it would be a good idea to post my current list based on my research on Babycenter.co.uk here (even though I still haven’t bought a thing yet) and then I’ll review it again in a few weeks after the the baby is due and I’m back here to find out what exactly I used and what I didn’t use! And possibly what I could have used!

So here’s what I’ve been told should be in MY bag:
Maternity Notes
Going home outfit
Dressing gown
Slippers
Warm socks x2
Nighties x3
Snacks and drinks
Hair bobbles
Pillows x2
Books/magazines/iPod There’s no way I would have felt like reading!
Lipbalm
Tissues
Water spray bottle Nope, didn’t bother
Flannels
Phone
Camera
Toiletry bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush etc)
2 piece swimsuit Didn’t get my water birthing pool 😦
Nursing bras
Breast pads
Maternity pads
Nipple cream
Money
Towels x2
Cheap knickers (loads)
Witch hazel errrrr what?
Notepad and pen
Big metal water bottle to refill as needed

And here’s what should be in the Baby’s bag (I didn’t actually end up using all these items but that’s primarily because I didn’t stay long in the hospital thankfully):
Nappies (1 pack)
Nappy bags
Cardigan
Wipes
Cotton wool pads
Car seat
Going home outfit
Sleepsuits and vests (3 of each)
Blankets x2
Cotton hats x2
Scratch mittens x2
Winter hat
Snowsuit
Muslins x5

What do you think? Do you think it’s a bit much or not? Personally don’t think I’m going to get everything on this list but we’ll see…

Have a great week!
