So Friday came and I went to see the midwife. And shockingly it was a Male midwife!!
Don’t get me wrong, I have no issues, (or maybe I do!) but there’s something just odd about that. In the end he was a really nice man! Answered all my questions, measured my belly (29cm, just right, thank God) and checked my blood pressure, that was great as well. So all is well with my little one and the male midwife did his job just right!
I also got my blood taken again (had it taken in my 15 week appointment) to check my iron level and some other stuff which I can’t quite remember.
Lastly, we talked about water birth! This is something of been thinking about for a while now. I’ve always loved swimming for as long as I can remember and I find it so relaxing, so think it would be great for labour. However, I’ve been advised not to hold my breath as its first come first serve so if there’s someone else in the birthing pool then I’m out of luck. There’s also the little issue that all you can get is gas and air while in the water (I pray I don’t need more than that) so I need to be prepared for all that…
Aside from baby talk, we’ve got the keys to our new home! So far I’m in love with the place and the landlady too! She actually dropped flowers and a welcome card for us in the house! I mean how sweet is that? I thought that was really thoughtful of her. That’s the picture below…
We’ll be moving in fully next weekend and just use the week to move things slowly so I don’t stress myself too much! Fun times… Not!
I think our new family is going to make lovely moments and memories there, just like we did in our city centre apartment. I’ll miss the lovely view of the waterside and waking up to the water rushing along and ducks quacking but isn’t that life? We’re moving on to start a family so we need something bigger and more spacious for us and the little one.
All in all, I’m getting to be pretty busy this month with settling in and buying stuff for the new place then next month will be the maternity leave month and the following month, the baby is here!!! By God’s Grace everything will go according to plan and time will just fly by!!
You all have a lovely week and happy new month too!
