Let the biting begin! And what else?

Just when I thought my darling was a proper sweetheart and would never do anything to harm her mama she bites me! I know a lot of people would say I’ve been luck thus far in my breastfeeding journey, but still! And my goodness did it hurt! Did I mention she has teeth? Oh the pain…

Off to the Theme Park and Zoo

On Wednesday we went to the zoo! Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo to be precise! it’s in Malton, North Yorkshire and a lot closer than I thought being just over an hour. Anjie, Grandma, Hubby and I got in the car in the morning and arrived to spend what was left of the British summer. Had a lovely time, even though the little missy slept through most of the outing :)

Getting ready to go back to Work!

So this week was a pretty busy week for Anjie, Abby and I. First of all Anjie and I went to work to talk about my resuming which is in August (OMG where has 9 months gone!). Was great seeing my colleagues and all the new faces in the company. A lot has happened in the industry so I’ll be spending the rest of the month catching up so I can hit the ground run when I get back to work, or at least that’s the plan…

Anjie didn’t cry but she wasn’t her usual smily self, she just woke up when I got to the office, darn! About an hour after I left work and went to the market there she was smiling at total strangers! The cheeky girl!!

Happy One Month Anniversary to my Nephew Jay-jay

Yes! My first nephew and second grandchild in the family, Jay-jay is a month old today!!

Although Jay-jay was a tad bit early (6 weeks to be exact), he’s proving there’s no stopping him! His growing everyday and delighting his mummy, daddy and grandparents non-stop! Although, his apparently giving them some sleepless nights already! The cheeky little man!

We’ll just So thankful to God for all He has done and what He will continue to do! I just can’t wait to meet and give Baby Joisah a big massive Aunty cuddle! And I bet his cousin Anjie can’t wait to meet him either! Hopefully in a few months! Can’t wait…

In the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with pictures instead, and yes, I have gotten consent! Isn’t he just a cutie! :-)

The Naming Ceremony of Baby Anjie

In Yoruba tradition we have a naming ceremony for a new born baby on the 8th day of the baby’s birth. So technically a name isn’t given until the ceremony which means I jumped the gun in saying the name of my baby girl but I couldn’t help it! I love the names we came up with and just couldn’t wait. Anjie’s naming ceremony was on the 28th of December…

36 weeks – Busy busy Week it was!

Wow!! 36 weeks!!! This week has been pretty busy and so much has been going on! Where do I start?!

First of all, my parent are in town! All the way from Warri, Nigeria! They got in last weekend and have been at my brother’s place all week. He just graduated with a Doctorate in Human Computer Interaction! How awesome is that? So a big short out to my big bro for setting such amazing standards for his siblings to follow!

So hubby and I went over to Middlesborough for the graduation ceremony, which is just about 1.5hrs from Leeds. After the ceremony we went on to Newcastle and came back the next morning. Fortunately, we took a half day Wednesday and Thursday so didn’t have to rush back into work Thursday morning.
