Last weekend was a pretty busy weekend, I decided to go for a working mum conference down in London with my sister and it was great fun! Anjie get to hang out with her other favourite person in the world, her daddy, and mummy got to have some me time! It doesn’t get better than that :). But that said, she actually cried when we were at the station…. Glad to know I’d be missed!
So I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like primarily because I’ve been busy with a number of projects here and there plus office work is getting pretty hectic! Most times when I get home I don’t want to see another screen! But anyway, enough with the excuses (as usual!), I’ll just get on with it!
So a couple of weeks ago when we still had the glorious sunshine (as I am writing this, we haven’t had much sunshine for about a week – is summer over?) we thought it would be a great idea to take Anjie to the beach. It turns out we are we have a number of beaches not to far from us, about 30 mins to an hour to get to a couple of them. So off we went to on a nice Saturday afternoon…
It was a disaster!
Wow! This 2013 has been amazing already! Soooo much has gone on already! So much to be thankful for! Where do I start! Well first of all this is my new look…
I figured it was time for a new break and decided to do something drastic since it was a brand new year! So a massive hair chop was done! And my goodness the freedom!! I could go on and on about it :). I don’t have to worry about what to do with my hair any more, I just get up and go! After makeup of course! While I was on the hair cutting spree I trimmed Anjie’s hair as well so it’s even all round now, I think she’s so much cuter now! Continue reading
Yes yes, I know right! my little girl is already having sleep overs! I could cry right now…
It wasn’t anything major though. We had to attend Abby’s company Christmas party down south near Birmingham and it was going to be an overnight do. Seeing as Grandma had gone we had to think, should hubby go without me or could we drop Anjie off with someone..?
Anjie turns 9 months today! Yippeeee. I’ve also been back at work now for just under two months, although I haven’t quite gone full time yet (that’s in October) it’s being… Interesting. I honestly can’t say it’s been fun because it hasn’t! But thankfully it gets better and easier everyday.
An online friend of mine, Aloted Omoba, just published an ebook on how to boost one’s confidence in the workplace and is currently available for free download at their website Super working mum. I’ve found this very useful especially as I’ve been at home for the last 9 months and just back at work myself. So why did I find it useful?
On Wednesday we went to the zoo! Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo to be precise! it’s in Malton, North Yorkshire and a lot closer than I thought being just over an hour. Anjie, Grandma, Hubby and I got in the car in the morning and arrived to spend what was left of the British summer. Had a lovely time, even though the little missy slept through most of the outing
Okay, maybe I’m being a little over dramatic here, but hey, I did survive! Considering the fact that I thought I won’t cope, I feel very proud of the fact that I made it through my first week without shedding a tear! My little girl went to the nursery on Monday and spent the whole day there all by herself and she was just fine without me… The rest of the week was with Grandma.
