17 months! Where has my baby gone!

So my Anjie baby turns 17 months today! I honestly don’t know where the time has gone! This past few months have been pretty busy for me too – work and all, but hopefully everything should have settled down now! That is my excuse for not updating my blog as often as I would have liked over the past few months… But to more interesting news, what have we been up to?

New Nursery, Breastfeeding, Sleeping and other things

Happy February everyone! This is one of my favorite months! (Although not sure Abby would agree with me!) Not only is it my birthday month AND Valentine’s, it’s also our wedding anniversary month! It doesn’t get much better than that…:D

So we’ve been settling nicely into our new home and my new job although the lack of Internet bit hasn’t been great. We’re getting to know North Wales a little bit more and really it is such a lovely country with lots of wide open countryside! We’re definitely looking forward to the summer here! But what else have we been up to?

Sleeping through and Sleep training!

Well this year seems to keep getting better and better! My little angel is finally starting to sleep through on most nights – with a little help from mummy and daddy of course…

So Anjie had been doing ok-ish late November in the sleep department, waking up like once at night to have some milk then back to sleep. I thought, this is ok, I could work with this – but then she had chickenpox and everything changed, for the worse. She started sleeping quite poorly which is to be expected considering what she was going through. It got so bad she started sleeping in our room because she was that restless at night.  Continue reading

Anjie’s first sleep over

Yes yes, I know right! my little girl is already having sleep overs! I could cry right now… :)

It wasn’t anything major though. We had to attend Abby’s company Christmas party down south near Birmingham and it was going to be an overnight do. Seeing as Grandma had gone we had to think, should hubby go without me or could we drop Anjie off with someone..?

Getting closer to December, Birthday and Christmas!

So we’ve been really quite busy at home… so busy I haven’t had time blog! Shame on me… Work is getting pretty busy plus we’ve had family over a bit. That’s right, Anjie has met another one of her cousins from her dad’s side! And yes, it is official, Anjie loves babies and kids. It was lovely to watch her play with her cousin Jayden, his a month younger than her though so she was doing more of the playing but it was great :-)

Goodbye to the Dummy – 10 Month

So this week aside from Anjie walking, we’ve decided to say good-bye to the dummy, even though it was a lifesaver. The nights haven’t been easy but we’re getting there… As much as I loved the dummy I’ve always had this fear at the back of my mind that she would get too attached to it if we left it too late, heard too many horror stories really! Overall she took it quite well, not missing it at all but she’s been waking up quite a bit at night looking for food! Do babies still have growth spurts at this age? Or could she just be getting more teeth?

She’s got 4 now, so cute! (I have to say it was a real struggle getting her to show the top teeth! But the bottom two are always easy…)

Let the biting begin! And what else?

Just when I thought my darling was a proper sweetheart and would never do anything to harm her mama she bites me! I know a lot of people would say I’ve been luck thus far in my breastfeeding journey, but still! And my goodness did it hurt! Did I mention she has teeth? Oh the pain…

Off to the Theme Park and Zoo

On Wednesday we went to the zoo! Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo to be precise! it’s in Malton, North Yorkshire and a lot closer than I thought being just over an hour. Anjie, Grandma, Hubby and I got in the car in the morning and arrived to spend what was left of the British summer. Had a lovely time, even though the little missy slept through most of the outing :)

First Week Back at Work – I Survived

Okay, maybe I’m being a little over dramatic here, but hey, I did survive! Considering the fact that I thought I won’t cope, I feel very proud of the fact that I made it through my first week without shedding a tear! :-) My little girl went to the nursery on Monday and spent the whole day there all by herself and she was just fine without me… The rest of the week was with Grandma.
