Wow! This 2013 has been amazing already! Soooo much has gone on already! So much to be thankful for! Where do I start! Well first of all this is my new look…
I figured it was time for a new break and decided to do something drastic since it was a brand new year! So a massive hair chop was done! And my goodness the freedom!! I could go on and on about it :). I don’t have to worry about what to do with my hair any more, I just get up and go! After makeup of course! While I was on the hair cutting spree I trimmed Anjie’s hair as well so it’s even all round now, I think she’s so much cuter now! Continue reading
So last week Thursday I got a call from the nursery saying my daughter, Anjie, who I had dropped off that morning was sick with chickenpox! Like OMG!!! Where and how did that happen??!!
16 weeks and it’s that special time again for the dreaded vaccines… This month she had 3!!! But thankfully she took it well, crying for a few seconds and then was okay. Next thing I knew, she was asleep like this! Bless her…
This is her third set, had one at 8 weeks and 12 weeks; thankfully the next one would be when she turns a year old or so. Also with this vaccine it means we are closer to getting her ears pierced…
So last week Friday Anjie got her second set of vaccination at the baby clinic. My darling daughter took it like a champ and cried for a few seconds and that was that! I felt so proud. She had one on each thigh. Now this is the immunisation for 12 weeks and apparently there’s another at 16 weeks which is three!!! OMG!! What are they trying to do! Anyway we will cross that bridge when we get there…
We also went for a barbecue on sunday where we saw a totally new side to Anjie…
So my folks left at the beginning of the week. I can’t say it has been a walk in the park… We’ve had some good days and not so good days (or rather nights!) with the little madam! But like my mum says ‘everyday is plus one’. She won’t always be like this, – not sleeping through the night, or eating every 2-3 hours – infact there will come a time when she will be almost too independent! So take it easy!
So Anjie turned one month today! I’m not going to say ‘how time flies’ because I remember each and everyday! I do wish the time would go faster cos I cannot wait till she’s more interactive and sleeps through the night – that’s just some of the things I’m looking forward to right now…
First of all! Here’s welcoming Anjolaifeoluwa Jasmine Omoniyi into the world! She made a gracious appearance on the 21st of December at 7.40pm weighing a good 8lb 5oz (3.77kg)
It all started on my due date, 18th of dec when I had a bloody show (lost some mucus plug) – that was my first sign that labour was coming. But nothing happened except the normal period like cramps and a few contractions in between. Continue reading
So the 18th has come… The much awaited due date! Not sure what I expected to feel really, but I can tell you now it’s pretty much like any other day! I’ve got the usual Braxton hicks and period cramps but nothing solid still.
However, on a positive note, I had a bloody show this evening! That’s the mucus plug from my cervix thingy! This means my baby girl is getting ready to make an appearance! Would have loved for her to show on her due date so I can say she’s a right-on-time kinda gal but that might not be (that said, say what say what, anything can happen, the night is still young!). Continue reading
I really do hate waiting… And its quite ironic because I’m not even full term yet! Heaven help me if I get to 41+ weeks!
Anyway, I’ve finalized my birth plan and given this to hubby. I think it’s pretty straightforward and simple – I want things to be as naturally as possible (including my water birth of course), but if this is not happen I’m happy to get assistance from ‘science’… Continue reading
So I’ve been doing a lot of reading on what to pack and what not to pack for my trip to the hospital for me and the little one. Its all a bit overwhelming as I hate load and there just seems like an awful lot of things to pack and I’m seriously wondering if I’m actually going to need all that!
