Anjie at 16 weeks and Some Great News!

This past week as been pretty busy for me! But busy in a lovely way!

First off, my sister gave birth last week thursday to a lovely baby boy! So now you can call me Aunty Tola! We’re all so thankful because it wasn’t an easy pregnancy but God saw her through!

Also I’ve been working on a friend’s wedding website for Kenny & Voke, Voke was Abby’s best man at our wedding so it was fun doing it for them! Only wish we could be there for the wedding, but sadly can’t make it…

Anjie has been acting up a bit this past few weeks, for one thing, our routine is now a bit shaky, but on a plus she’s sleeping a bit better now, waking up just once between 7.30pm and 5.30am, which is always a good thing! I’m hoping its a growth spurt because she’s eating more during the day and sleeping less but who knows… We’ll continue to see how it goes!

Here’s Anjie at just over 15 weeks! Love the middle shot! lol…

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter and have a great week!

My Birth Story!! Warning Contains TMI

First of all! Here’s welcoming Anjolaifeoluwa Jasmine Omoniyi into the world! She made a gracious appearance on the 21st of December at 7.40pm weighing a good 8lb 5oz (3.77kg)

It all started on my due date, 18th of dec when I had a bloody show (lost some mucus plug) – that was my first sign that labour was coming. But nothing happened except the normal period like cramps and a few contractions in between. Continue reading

40 weeks today and oh yeah, it’s My Due Date

So the 18th has come… The much awaited due date! Not sure what I expected to feel really, but I can tell you now it’s pretty much like any other day! I’ve got the usual Braxton hicks and period cramps but nothing solid still.

However, on a positive note, I had a bloody show this evening! That’s the mucus plug from my cervix thingy! This means my baby girl is getting ready to make an appearance! Would have loved for her to show on her due date so I can say she’s a right-on-time kinda gal but that might not be (that said, say what say what, anything can happen, the night is still young!). My Birth Plan

I really do hate waiting… And its quite ironic because I’m not even full term yet! Heaven help me if I get to 41+ weeks!

Anyway, I’ve finalized my birth plan and given this to hubby. I think it’s pretty straightforward and simple – I want things to be as naturally as possible (including my water birth of course), but if this is not happen I’m happy to get assistance from ‘science’… Continue reading

Well still waiting… 39 weeks

Well, it’s week 39 now and I’m still waiting…

You would think that since I’m on my maternity leave I would have more time to myself and this would translate to more time to blog and all! That’s a yes and no… I do have more time to myself but that’s just what I’ve been doing – spending more ‘me’ time and catching up on lots of rest and relaxation! After all, these are my last days of freedom! Continue reading

Full Term and Due This Month! Wow – 37 weeks

December 2011!!

Amazing… And just like that we’re getting ready for Christmas and the New Year! Well at least most people are… Us, we’re getting ready for the arrival of our little one! This year has been an amazing year and one I’m not going to forget in a hurry! I’m just thankful for getting to the last month and continue to pray for many more ahead…

So really since I’ve started my maternity leave what have I been up to? Not much! Well that’s not really true, I’ve been doing a bit of baby shopping, got some more clothes for the little missy, made her bed and all and started getting ready our hospital bed. Haven’t ticked everything off the list but we’re getting there :-) . Continue reading

36 weeks – Busy busy Week it was!

Wow!! 36 weeks!!! This week has been pretty busy and so much has been going on! Where do I start?!

First of all, my parent are in town! All the way from Warri, Nigeria! They got in last weekend and have been at my brother’s place all week. He just graduated with a Doctorate in Human Computer Interaction! How awesome is that? So a big short out to my big bro for setting such amazing standards for his siblings to follow!

So hubby and I went over to Middlesborough for the graduation ceremony, which is just about 1.5hrs from Leeds. After the ceremony we went on to Newcastle and came back the next morning. Fortunately, we took a half day Wednesday and Thursday so didn’t have to rush back into work Thursday morning.

Week 35 – Are we there yet?

Well this is my 36th week of pregnancy and I’m getting closer and closer to full term – 37 weeks!

I know most people would say I shouldn’t hold my breathe about the baby coming then, especially as this is my first – I should be looking more towards 40-42 weeks! WHAT?? Well the good news is I spoke to my mum and she said we all came early! Including the first born! He was almost 2 weeks early if not more! So that’s what I’m talking about. If God did it for my mummy, He will do it for me!

Note to self – Me and Booboo’s Hospital Bags

So I’ve been doing a lot of reading on what to pack and what not to pack for my trip to the hospital for me and the little one. Its all a bit overwhelming as I hate load and there just seems like an awful lot of things to pack and I’m seriously wondering if I’m actually going to need all that!
