Soaking up the Sun while it lasts… In the Park

So this week we had unbelievably good weather here! I’m talking 22-24 degrees! After all the wet days it was pretty much heaven sent! So not wanting to miss out, Anjie and I went to the park and had a lovely time! But just when I was thinking of putting her on the swing for the first time she fell asleep! Lol… Oh well next time!

Here’s some pictures we took… The last one is my personal favourite :)

Anjie is Weaning and Swimming at 5 months!

Although we had a relatively quite week the weekend was busy! We decided to introduce Anjie to some baby food! Namely baby rice and banana porridge… The initial plan was to wait till she was 6 months but she’s been giving all the signs of being ready, including great head control, sitting up on her own, watching us while eating and sometimes even taking food from our plate and putting it in her mouth! So with that decide to hit the 22 week mark and start! I figured I’ll start with baby cereal once a day then gradually increase it to three times a day and bring in puree by 6 months. For now i give her the cereal after her breastmilk, that way she isn’t too hungry and cranky.

My baby’s growing up!!

Settling into her Room and Sitting down

So last week we moved Anjie to her own room. I have to say that although I was the one that pushed for it I was a bit worried. This is mainly because I’ll have to wake up and go to her room to feed her if when she wakes up at night – me in my sleepy state! But that said I knew it was something I wanted us to do, and the sooner the better!

All in all, I have to say it has been fun, we’re all enjoying our new found freedom! Most times…

Happy One Month Anniversary to my Nephew Jay-jay

Yes! My first nephew and second grandchild in the family, Jay-jay is a month old today!!

Although Jay-jay was a tad bit early (6 weeks to be exact), he’s proving there’s no stopping him! His growing everyday and delighting his mummy, daddy and grandparents non-stop! Although, his apparently giving them some sleepless nights already! The cheeky little man!

We’ll just So thankful to God for all He has done and what He will continue to do! I just can’t wait to meet and give Baby Joisah a big massive Aunty cuddle! And I bet his cousin Anjie can’t wait to meet him either! Hopefully in a few months! Can’t wait…

In the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with pictures instead, and yes, I have gotten consent! Isn’t he just a cutie! :-)

The First Cold is the Hardest…

I knew this day would come, but just wish it didn’t have to be this soon! AJ has gotten her first cold :-( . She’s had a runny nose, cough and been sneezing since yesterday! Her breathing at night was a bit off and she was snoring too, bless her…

So today I got saline drop for her nose and that seems to have helped a bit but apparently can’t really do anything for the cough! It just breaks my heart to hear her breathe like that but she is totally indifferent! She’s just as happy as usual and always ready with a smile! The only thing is she’s sleeping a lot more but I’m still trying to get her to eat as much as possible as that should help the cold.

Praying my baby starts feeling super duper ASAP! I can’t stand to see her like this…

The Crybaby Shuffle – Mothers Beware!!!

I found this on BabyCenter, not quite sure who wrote it but absolutely love it and can relate to it! Now this is sleep regression!! The cheeky little babies!
——-

Here’s my situation. My mommy has had me for almost 4 months. The first few months were great – I cried, she picked me up and fed me, anytime, day or night. Then something happened.

Over the last few weeks, she has been trying to STTN (sleep through the night). At first, I thought it was just a phase, but it is only getting worse. I’ve talked to other babies, and it seems like it’s pretty common after mommies have had us for around 4 months.

Here’s the thing: these mommies don’t really need to sleep. It’s just a habit. Many of them have had some 30 years to sleep – they just don’t need it anymore. So I am implementing a plan. I call it the Crybaby Shuffle.

It goes like this:
