Who is interested in Infant Massage Classes??

We Are!!!

So late last week we went for our very first Infant massage class – Anjie was 9 weeks…

I’m still at the stage where I have mixed feelings about going out with Anjie as I’m not quite sure what to expect with her! Most times she’s a darling, bless her, but she does have her moments. I know the more we go out the more confident and adept at handling her I’ll get both at home and ‘abroad’, so I just need to get us out out more!

All Hail the Power of the Dummy/Pacifier

Before Anjie came into this world I never really liked dummies and pacifiers. I saw them as a way of keeping a baby/child quiet but not in a nice way if that makes sense :-) . I said to myself ‘Oh I won’t use a dummy, it’s not nice blah blah’. Once again it just goes to show what I know about parenting (not much really!).

So we introduced Anjie to a dummy around 6 weeks, not long after I began bottle feeding her. Partly because there were times she would just scream her head off inconsolably and it kept her quiet for a short while. Sometimes she would take it and sometimes she won’t, but even when she took it it only worked for a short while!

Happy birthday to Me and Anjie turns 2 months!

Happy birthday to me! Well technically it was yesterday but better late than never, right??

As expected we didn’t do much! Had some chicken and chips and went to the salon to get my hair done! That was all! But on the plus side my new phone arrived! Anjie’s taking up this year’s celebrations so far. That includes Christmas, New Year, Valentine and my birthday! Oh well we’ll have a lot to celebrate when she turns one! A bit of our independence!!! :D

Here’s a picture of Anjie at 2 months, in jeans! You go booboo…

I’ve finally signed up for some baby classes starting end of this week so that should be fun! Will write about it once I’ve attended a couple!

Enjoy the rest of the week…

Anjie gets her Immunisation and 6-8 week Check

So my folks left at the beginning of the week. I can’t say it has been a walk in the park… We’ve had some good days and not so good days (or rather nights!) with the little madam! But like my mum says ‘everyday is plus one’. She won’t always be like this, – not sleeping through the night, or eating every 2-3 hours – infact there will come a time when she will be almost too independent! So take it easy!

Anjie in Her Victoria Lady Baby Sling

So remember I said I was going to get a Victoria Sling Lady baby sling? Well it came in the post and I have to say Anjie and I are absolutely loving it!

The Victoria Sling Lady Sling (VSLS from now on!) is pretty simple and cheap! Infact it is so simple you wonder why I didn’t think of that! (to be fair back home in Nigeria we carry our babies on our back with a large piece of cloth, I just don’t have the guts or know-how to do it!). I got if off EBay for £15 and it’s well worth it especially when my mum leaves this weekend…

Anjie goes to Church and Visiting

So Anjie turned 6 weeks last week and it’s a week to my folks leaving hence we decided to take Anjie to Church!

In my church, the first time a baby comes to church is quite special and called Baby Dedication. It’s about bringing the child to the house of the Lord and praying for her life and future. As the name of the ceremony implies, it’s about dedicating the child to the Lord who gave us the child in the first place so it’s about laying a good Christian foundation for the child (even though they aren’t quite ‘aware’ at the moment). Eventually she’ll start attending Sunday School and learning more and more about the bible from us and the Sunday school classes! Continue reading
